Цей день був присвячений вербі – вважалося, що її гілочки виганяють з дому труднощі і скорботу.

Саме 21 березня був днем весняного рівнодення, і в народі говорили, що з цього моменту починається весна. Прилітали жайворонки, і з цієї нагоди господині випікали печиво у вигляді таких птахів. “Жайворонками” 21 березня пригощали дітей, і вважалося, що таке печиво на столі символізують радість, благополуччя і щастя.

Намагалися саме на Вербоносицу, 21 березня, наламати як можна більше гілок верби і розвісити їх в будинку. Це приносить чистоту, красу, здоров’я. Якщо гілку верби поставити на столі у домі, то вона вижене всі труднощі і скорботи з дому, принесе щастя сім’ї.

Кажуть 21 березня: “Кого вербою б’ють, у того тіло буде легким”, тобто хвороб не буде. Вірили, якщо розім’яти вербу, покласти її на голову і накрити хусткою, то можна позбавитися від головного болю. А от самому садити вербу у дворі власного будинку – до смерті.

У цей день не можна починати серйозні справи, оскільки успіху не буде. Також не варто будувати плани на майбутнє – швидше за все, їм не судилося збутися.
