Центр прогнозування космічної погоди (SWPC) NOAA оприлюднив прогноз магнітних бур на 8 та 9 жовтня.

У вівторок, 8 жовтня, очікується сонячна активність з К-індексом 4 (жовтий рівень), що відповідає сильним геомагнітним хвилюванням.

У середу, 9 жовтня, очікується сонячна активність з К-індексом 3 (зелений рівень), що відповідає сильним геомагнітним хвилюванням.

Вимірюється геомагнітна активність за шкалою від 0 до 9. Для позначення використовується планетарний К-індекс, якщо показник 5 і вище – то це сильна магнітна буря.
