Ден і Морган з Нью-Йорка – брат та сестра, і вони добре знають, куди можна подіти ялинку, яка почала сохнути, та ще й допомогти при цьому бездомним.

Вони заснували проект Christmas Tree Brooklyn, головна ідея якого – збирати сухі ялинки по домівках та відправляти їх на переробку, якщо їхні власники лінуються зробити це самі, пише The Huffington Post.

Ден і Морган також пропонують усім охочим пожертвувати зайві речі, щоб допомогти бездомним.

Їхня ініціатива працює з 2011 року, за цей час їм вдалося зібрати понад 20 тисяч доларів на благодійність.

Сировину, яка утворюється після переробки зібраних братом і сестрою ялинок, використовують для мульчування молодих дерев.

“Це дуже зручно, – розповідає Ден. – Дерева висихають і стають сміттям у домі. Голки осипаються і розносяться по всьому помешканню. Ми ж допомагаємо позбутися й навіть запобігти цьому”.

Цього року Ден і Морган наполегливо продовжують втілювати свій проект.
