Землетрус докотився до Італії: за ніч мешканці Сієни пережили понад пів сотні підземних поштовхів

В італійському місті земля безперервно двигтіла, але магнітуда поштовхів була невеликою – від 3,5 до 2,8.

Мешканці міста Сієна у провінції Тоскана на північному заході країни пережили ніч жаху 9 лютого. Тисячі людей, налякані підземними поштовхами, покинули свої домівки і залишалися уночі на площах та вулицях.

Про це повідомляє місцеве видання La Nazione.

Перший землетрус був магнітудою 3,5. Епіцентр поштовху був під самим містом на глибині 8 кілометрів. Мешканці почали виходити на вулиці, центральна площа Пьяцца дель Кампо була переповнена людьми.

Упродовж ночі була зафіксовано майже 40 підземних поштовхів, на щастя, не надто сильних, щоб привести до руйнувань будівель. Лише в деяких давніх будинках в історичній частині міста, включеної до культурної спадшини ЮНЕСКО, з’явилися тріщини та стався невеликий зсув ґрунту.

Про всяк випадок влада закрила у місті всі навчальні заклади та музеї заради безпеки. Також уранці після нових поштовхів було евакуйовано людей з Палацу правосуддя.

Об 11:04 стався останній із серії 60 афтершоків, близько половини з яких були меншими за магнітуду 2.

Як відомо, Італія, розташована на сходженні між Євразійською плитою та Африканською плитою, що штовхає її до Балкан у своїй північній частині, піддається ризику землетрусів на значній частині своєї території.

Професор геофізики в університеті Сієни Даріо Альбарелло повідомив, що підземні поштовхи не пов’язані із руйнівним землетрусом у Туреччині. Сейсмічно активні зони розташовані на великій відстані, тому динамічних ефектів взаємодії між ними бути не може.

Нагадаємо, у портовому місті Іскендерун у Туреччині, яке постраждало від руйнівних землетрусів, почала підніматися приливна хвиля через підвищення рівня моря.
