Американські вчені створили різновид антибіотика ванкоміцину, здатний боротися з супербактеріями – організмами, несприйнятливими до традиційних методів лікування.

Фахівці отримали третю модифікацію ванкоміцина, яка змінює проникність клітинної стінки бактерій.

Раніше були розроблені ще дві модифікації антибіотика, кожна з яких передбачає свою стратегію боротьби з бактеріальною інфекцією.

На думку вчених, це дозволить уникнути розвитку у мікроорганізмів резистентності до антибіотика.

Препарат, створений на основі трьох модифікацій ванкоміцину, більш ніж в тисячу разів ефективніший за попередню версію. При лікуванні його потрібно значно менше, отже, менше можливих ускладнень.
