Італійців, які використовують англійські та інші іноземні слова в офіційних повідомленнях, можуть оштрафувати на суму до 100 000 євро згідно з новим законодавством.

Законопроєкт подав на розгляд член нижньої палати депутатів Фабіо Рампеллі. Поки він ще не винесений на обговорення у парламенті. Законопроєкт підтримує прем’єр-міністерка Італії Джорджія Мелоні.

Хоча цей закон поширюється на всі іноземні мови, проте законопроєкт особливо спрямований на “англоманію” або використання англійських слів, які “принижують та ображають” італійську мову.

Таким чином, законопроєкт вимагає від усіх, хто обіймає посади в органах державного управління, “письмового та усного володіння італійською мовою”. Він також забороняє використання англійської мови в офіційній документації, включаючи “абревіатури та назви” посад у компаніях.

Як пише CNN, згідно з проєктом закону, іноземні організації в Італії повинні мати італійські видання всіх внутрішніх положень і трудових контрактів.

“Це не просто питання моди, оскільки мода минає, але англоманія має наслідки для суспільства в цілому”, – йдеться в законопроєкті.

Перша стаття закону гарантує, що навіть в офісах, які працюють з іноземцями, італійська має бути основною мовою.

Друга стаття закону робить італійську мову “обов’язковою для просування та використання у товарах та послугах на території країни.

Порушення закону каратиметься штрафом від 5000 євро (5435 доларів) до 100 000 євро (108 705 доларів).
