“На сьогоднішній день у дуже тяжкому стані перебуває Станіслав Клих… Це людина, яка збожеволіла через ті тортури, які до нього застосовували під час затримання і  попереднього слідства. Зовсім незрозуміло, як ця людина знаходитиметься в колонії, куди його мають найближчим часом відправити (зараз він сидить у грозненському СІЗО)”, – сказала Свєтова.

На її думку, зараз «необхідно провести судово-психіатричну експертизу Клиха в Інституті імені Сербського, необхідно якнайшвидше відправити його на батьківщину, покласти там у психіатричну лікарню». Свєтова назвала Клиха «страшною жертвою цих репресій Росії по відношенню до українських громадян».

Як повідомлялося, 26 жовтня відбудеться розгляд апеляції у справі українських політв’язнів Миколи Карпюка і Станіслава Клиха в російському Верховному суді. На ньому буде єдина команда адвокатів: з вівторка Докка Іцлаєв, Марина Дубровіна та Ілля Новіков тепер спільно захищатимуть двох обвинувачуваних українських політв’язнів.

Раніше Станіслав Клих, який перебуває у поганому психічному стані, часто зривається і погано себе контролює, особливо в присутності публіки, відмовився від захисту Дубровіної у новозаведеній на нього “справі про зневажання суду”. Через це було побоювання, що йому дадуть державного “адвоката за призначенням”, який розколе єдину команду захисту. Адвокат Ілля Новіков оцінив виконану роботу Дубровіної як “героїчну” і висловив упевненість, що “коли Стас остаточно отямиться, він, звичайно, усвідомить, наскільки зобов’язаний Марині”.

Лідер Української національної асамблеї (УНА) Микола Карпюк був затриманий в Росії у березні 2014 року. Українського журналіста Станіслава Клиха затримали у вересні 2014 року на території РФ, куди він приїхав у гості до вагітної подруги.

У травні 2016 року Верховний суд Чечні виніс їм вирок – обох визнали винними в участі у бойових діях на боці Республіки Ічкерія у 1990-х і засудили до 22,5 і 20 років колонії відповідно. Обидва заперечують свою вину і заявляють, що були незаконно затримані, а їх зізнання були отримані російським слідством під тортурами.

У лютому 2016 року російська правозахисна організація “Меморіал” визнала Карпюка і Клиха політв’язнями.
