Кількість загиблих унаслідок обвалу будівлі в містечку Серфсайд, що у передмісті Маямі, зросла до 86. Ще 43 людини залишаються зниклими безвісти.
Про це повідомила мер округу Маямі-Дейд Даніелла Левін Кава, пише CNN.

Посадовиця розповіла, що 62 з 86 жертв уже ідентифіковані. Родичів 61 загиблого вже повідомили про це.

За словами рятувальника Джиммі Патроніса, останнім часом почали частіше знаходити жертв, оскільки частина будинку, яка не обвалилася, раніше могла впасти у будь-який момент. Однак після остаточного знесення будинку вона більше не становить загрози.

Паралельно із пошуком тіл загиблих посадовці продовжують розслідування причин обвалу та перевірку міцності інших будівель в цьому районі.

За словами мера Серфсайда Чарльза Беркета, експерти вже проаналізували міцність дуже схожої будівлі.

«Ми були там вже декілька разів. Ми взяли зразки. Ми використали георадар. Ми намагаємося визначити кількість сталі, товщину плит, ми намагаємося зібрати всю цю інформацію і подивитися, чи є якісь ознаки слабкості», — сказав Беркетт.
