Українська греко-католицька церква переходить на новий календар: коли святкуватимуть Різдво і Великдень

УГКЦ запроваджує календарну реформу.

УГКЦ від 1 вересня 2023 року впроваджує новий календар, проте деякі парафії можуть користуватись юліанським календарем до 2025 року.

Про це повідомляє пресслужба УГКЦ.

“Взявши до уваги численні прохання віруючих та провівши попередні консультації із духовенством та монашеством нашої Церкви про назрілу потребу реформи Літургійного календаря УГКЦ в Україні, а також зважаючи на душпастирські рації ухвалено: УГКЦ в Україні перейти з 1 вересня за новим стилем (початок Індикту) 2023 року Божого на новий стиль для нерухомих свят із збереженням чинної Пасхалії. Для тих парафій чи поодиноких громад, які відчувають себе ще не готовими до такого кроку (за окремим благословенням єпархіального єпископа), залишити можливість літургійного життя за юліанським календарем на період до 2025 року Божого”, – йдеться у повідомленні.

Очільник УГКЦ Блаженніший Святослав пояснив, що Великдень та пов’язанні з ним свята святкуватимуть так, як і зараз. Проте “нерухомі свята”, які мають конкретну дату, відзначатимуть за новим календарем, починаючи з 1 вересня 2023 року. Тобто Різдво у 2023 році УГКЦ святкуватиме 25 грудня, а не 7 січня 2024 року.

“Церковний календар має два цикли або два види свят, які ми святкуємо. Одні з них ми святкуємо за сонячним календарем. І це так звані нерухомі свята – свята, які кожного року випадають на одну і ту саму дату. А є інша група свят, які ми святкуємо за місячним календарем. Це так звана “Пасхалія”, тобто, свята, які пов’язані із святом Пасхи. І це є “рухомі свята”, – наголосив Святослав.

Блаженніший Святослав закликав вірян не боятися змін, оскільки це буде тільки на краще та гарантуватиме Україні світле майбутнє.

Дискусії щодо календарної реформи в церквах України
Останніми роками, особливо після повномасштабної війни Росії проти України, посилилась дискусія щодо переходу на новий календар, щоб святкувати Різдво разом зі світом – 25 грудня.

В Україні більшість церков користувалась юліанським календарем, хоча майже весь світ живе за григоріанським.

Більшість країн Заходу та Римська Церква одразу прийняли григоріанський календар і почали проводити за ним богослужіння. Православний Патріархат відмовився та зажадав і далі жити за юліанським календарем.
